Bien que ses peintures appartiennent à la Suite Métaphysique, elles forment un sous-groupe distinct et aisément identifiable (à l’instar des Vanishing Pictures). Les Melting Pictures se singularisent par une approche où l’excès de désir de peinture, devenu pur acide, défigure son sujet. Cronos digérant ses enfants dans son suc gastrique.
